The AVID 11 Summit at MSU, Mankato, brought together AVID juniors from LSH, as well as the surrounding Mankato area, for a day of learning and inspiration. Students attended sessions on note-taking, team building, and heard from current MSU students. The event also included a campus tour. Nora Doerr, an LSH AVID 10th grader, kicked off the event by reading her nationally recognized essay about her own AVID experience. It was a great opportunity for students to explore college life and gain valuable academic insights!

Students in 6th Grade STEM created a cell phone holder for their teacher's cell phone. 6th graders had limited supplies, and they worked through the Engineering Design Process to complete the investigation. Most cell phone designs did indeed hold the cell phone. Engineers at work!
